- great site for 'skinny dog' lovers. Check out the lovely 2008

Greyhounds In Need -
Rescue and re-home greyhounds and Galgos
especially from Spain, where most of their work is done.
RSPCA
South Cotswolds Branch
- Based in Stroud providing animal welfare to Cirencester, Fairford, Tetbury,
Dursley, Nailsworth, Wotton-Under-Edge, Berkeley and Stonehouse areas.
Greyhound Rescue West of England (GRWE) - For the rescue and
rehabilitation of abused and abandoned Greyhounds.
5 Valley Cat Rescue - A local charity
based around Stroud and the 5 Valleys which helps farm, feral, old, disabled
and stray cats.
Tailends
- Animal sanctuary in Devon, that takes in elderly and terminally ill dogs
which usually come from situations of abuse and neglect.
Animals Asia Foundation -
Hong Kong-based charity with UK offices,
dedicated to ending cruelty and promoting respect for all animals in Asia.
People for the Ethical Treatment of
Animals - An
international nonprofit interest group whose goal is to end all animal
exploitation.

Scottish Executive Environment - Ban on
tail Docking - The docking of tails in Scotland will be banned from 30th
April 2007
DEFRA
- Mutilations and Tail Docking of dogs
- The docking of dogs' tails is banned in England from 6th April 2007, and
in Wales from 28 March 2007; but with exemptions from the ban for certain
working dogs, and for medical treatment.
Fun:
Cani-Cross - Fun running with
your dog. Caters for all shapes and sizes, any breed and all fitness
levels — canine and human. Humans from the age of eleven and dogs from the
age of one onwards can enter.
Gloucestershire Greyhound Playgroup - Safe off-lead running for sighthounds! The playgroup takes place every week in an indoor riding school near Stonehouse, and is for any sighthound or sighthound-cross (greyhound, lurcher, whippet etc).
Conservation and Wildlife:
The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust - UK
charity with a national network of nine specialist wetland visitor centres,
and is committed to the protection of wetlands and all that depend on them
for survival. Visit our local centre here in Gloucestershire at
Slimbridge.

Springwatch - A great interactive web site for information on all
aspects of the UK's nature and wildlife.
Lifestyle:
The Vegan Society - The Society
which promotes vegan lifestyles - that is, ways of living that seek to
exclude, as far as is possible and practical, all forms of exploitation of
animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.
The Vegetarian Society - An educational
charity promoting understanding and respect for vegetarian lifestyles.
