Services
CONSULTATION:
We provide an extensive free initial consultation so that we can meet and get to know both you and your pets. This consultation can take a couple of hours, and is an important first meeting so that you and your companions can get to know us too, and we can see how we all get along. We may want to go out for a walk locally with you and your dog/s, or just hang out with everyone and get to know the household characters. We will familiarise ourselves with the commands that you use for your dogs so that there is continuity of communication, and we can just talk about the things they love to do. In addition, it is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.
We will discuss the services you are considering and if necessary, adapt them to fit to your individual requirements. We will also go through and fill in the necessary paperwork with you and organise mutual arrangements so that your planned break or commitment does not impact too greatly on your home and pets.
We respectfully request that all dogs have up to date yearly vaccinations (we will need to see their cards), and that they are regularly treated for ticks, fleas and worms.
Kate and Sue (Wagtails) are non-smokers.
DOG WALKING:
Home to Home
-
Many dogs enjoy an amble
around their usual home area, meeting folk from their neighbourhood and greeting their
local pals. We know that our dogs love checking out special posts, romping
along familiar pathways and picking up their 'secret emails' (something we will
never be privvy to!).
We also understand that some dogs do not travel well in vehicles, and some need more sedate exercise due to age or health issues, so we offer our one hour visit involving a walk investigating your pet's local area and visiting their favourite haunts.
Afterwards, we will settle your dog/s back into their home, refresh their water, towel dry as necessary, and give a full body check over. We will also leave a daily note to you to let you know how they have been whilst in our care.
Out 'n' About
-
Here in Stroud, we are fortunate to have many beautiful and dog
friendly walks and common areas. These provide a wonderful opportunity to
explore new smells and sensations and generally have a brilliant time out in the
fresh air.
Therefore, we offer our one hour out 'n' about visit, starting with a local drive to somewhere interesting such as one of our many lovely woodlands or perhaps Minchinhampton, Selsley or Rodborough common for a great explore and a chance to meet up with old and new pals.
Again, after the walk we will settle your dog/s back into their home, refresh their water, towel dry as necessary, and give a full body check over. You will also receive our daily note detailing how they have been whilst in our care.
Specialised
Walk - For those wanting a little more adventure or
stimulation, we are also able to offer
our specialised walks upon request. These usually involve something just that little bit different. For example,
do you regularly think that you should be socialising your dog/s more?
Well, let us organise a fun but socialising town walk for your
companion/s. For the younger and more energetic dog/s, perhaps a
walk/swim might be just the ticket?
Just let us know your
needs, and we will be pleased to make the necessary arrangements.
Note:
No dogs are allowed to wander out of our sight, at any time.
We request that you provide hygiene bags for your dog/s.
We respect the Countryside Code.
PET MINDING:
As pet owners, we know that you sometimes worry that you can't be there for your beloved pets 100% of the time. Work commitments, scheduled trips away and sometimes unexpected situations which crop up from time to time can leave you feeling rather distressed and worried about the impact on your pets and just how you are all going to cope!
¾ hour Visit - A daytime 45 minute visit to check on your pets, give them a comfort break, refresh water or administer medications. This visit allows time for perhaps a litter change, or a spot of grooming and of course time for playing with favourite toys or giving extra fuss and attention. Following the visit, we will leave you a note to say that we have called, and how the visit went.
3 hour Visit - A daytime three hour visit including all of the above, but also allowing your pets to enjoy the luxury of lots of one to one attention. An ideal option for when an injured or recuperating animal needs constant care or monitoring.
Prices quoted are for up to 3 pets per household
We request that you provide hygiene bags for your dog/s.
PET AND HOME SITTING:
For longer periods of time, when you are on holiday or perhaps on a business trip, we can offer either an overnight stay or a longer visit to your home. This would involve looking after your cats, dogs and small animals (sorry, no birds) in their own home, maintaining as much of their normal routine as possible. This also includes reasonable and appropriate walks for each individual dog, usually in the morning and early evening. We will remain in your house with your pets around the clock, with only agreed essential short periods away. They will not only benefit from a constant companion, but we will also walk dogs, change and wash dog/cat bedding, clean litter trays or bowls, give medication, feed, water, brush and give lots of cuddles.
Your pets will be very happy and secure remaining in their home environment, and they will enjoy the benefits of companionship, stimulation, exercise and the due care and attention Wagtails provide. However, separation from your animals can sometimes be difficult for you, so we offer a free text or email service to send you regular updates and photos, keeping you up to date and fully involved in knowing how your best pal/s are enjoying their holiday too.
Additionally, a Pet and Home Sit will also provide the extra security of having your home occupied for the entire duration of your absence, whilst attending to chores such as opening curtains, watering plants, picking up post, putting out the re-cycling and rubbish, setting alarms and security lighting.
If you have any special requests or instructions for your pet or your home, then these will receive our undivided attention.
For pet and home sitting, we provide all our own food, bedding and personal items, so there are no extra costs or arrangements for you to worry about. We aim to 'live lightly' in your home, leaving it as we found it.
